1. Are District 742 buildings available for use by the community?
Yes! District Buildings are available for use. Contact Community Education to coordinate any use you may have.
2. Is there a cost for the use of the facilities?
Yes. There are costs associated with the use of the facilities. These costs are used to cover the expense of having the buildings operating at the times of use. They are also used to generate a small amount of revenue to have this service available to the public.
3. Can I negotiate the cost of the facility?
Rental prices are set by the School Board and are not subject to negotiation.
4. Am I always going to get the spaces and time that I request?
Unfortunately No. The availability of the building is based on the needs and the demands of the school district first. Outside groups come second to that need. There may be dates that are taken for school needs.
5. How do I know how much my request is going to cost?
After the Request has been processed there is an cost estimation on the permit. Including any labor ie custodial or building attendant fees.
6. How do I request a space to use?
You can request a space a couple of ways. The first is online, go to the Community Education website and become a Requester. Second, fill out an application for use found on the Community Education website and email, fax or mail it in.
7. How do I cancel my permit once it has been approved?
Just contact the Facility Coordinator and the the permit will be cancelled, with out charge.
8. How do I get notified that I am approved to use the facility I requested?
If you provided an email, you will receive an E-Permit confirming your use. If you did not receive the email, check your junk/spam folder or contact Community Education for a copy. If you did not provide an email, a copy of the contract will be sent to you through the U.S mail.
9. What should I expect when I arrive at the building?
You should expect that the spaces you asked for are open and ready to use. Normally, there are building attendants there to help you with your needs. If there are not, the custodial staff will be able to assist you.
10. What if my needs change after I have submitted my request?
No problem, just contact Community Education at 320-370-8200 or email facilityrental@isd742.org prior to your event and we will make the changes to your event.
11. What happens if I don't use the facility as long as I had asked for in my request?
No problem!! The event time will be confirmed with the staff who worked it and the permit will be adjusted prior to billing.
12. How am I billed for my event?
Prepayment is required for use.
13. I rented and the custodial fee is higher than I expected,why is this?
When the permit is granted an estimation of these types of fees is given. Sometimes costs are higher due to amount of space that needs to be cleaned or the level in which it needs to get cleaned.
14. What happens if I forget to tell you about my change till after I am billed?
No problem! Call Community Education and we will adjust the permit and bill accordingly.
15. Is a certificate of insurance needed to rent district facilities?
Yes.
Why liability insurance is required - In order to hold activities on district property, individuals, groups and/or organizations that are not ISD 742 school- or district-affiliated groups must provide proof of liability insurance that releases the school district from liability for any incident that might occur while the group is on district property.
What you need to do - In order to use district facilities, you must do the following:
1) Obtain liability insurance in the amount of $1 million ($1,000,000) and
2) Provide valid certificate of liability that shows “St. Cloud Area School District 742” as an additional insured party on the certificate, including specific dates of coverage, to the district’s Facilities Scheduling department.
